How to Make Essential Oil Roller Bottles (+ Printable Labels & Recipes for Every Mood!)



There’s something incredibly satisfying about making your own essential oil roller blends. Whether you need a little calm, a natural bug bite remedy, or a homemade perfume —roller bottles are an easy, portable way to take your favorite oils on the go.



Supplies You’ll Need

To make your own essential oil rollers, you’ll need just a few basics:

10 ml glass roller bottles (with metal or glass rollers)

✅ Carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil is my favorite, but jojoba, sweet almond, or grapeseed work great too)

Your favorite essential oils

Patriotic roller bottle labels

How to Make a Roller Bottle Blend

1. Start with an empty 10 ml roller bottle

2. Add your essential oils first (see recipes below!)

3. Fill the rest with your carrier oil

4. Pop the roller top on and shake gently to blend

5. Apply your label and you’re done!

Suggested recipes for these labels:

1. Buzz Buzz (Soothes bug bite discomfort)

Cooling and calming for itchy, irritated skin.

Ingredients:

  • 3 drops lavender (soothing + anti-itch)

  • 2 drops frankincense (anti-inflammatory)

  • 1 drop peppermint (cooling relief)

  • Optional: 1 drop tea tree (cleansing and antimicrobial)

  • Top with fractionated coconut oil or other carrier oil

How to use: Roll directly on bug bites as needed.

2. Explosion (Soothes head tension + discomfort)

Perfect for tension headaches or neck strain.

Ingredients:

  • 3 drops peppermint (cooling + headache relief)

  • 2 drops lavender (relaxes tight muscles)

  • 2 drops rosemary (stimulates circulation)

  • Optional: 1 drop frankincense (calms stress-related discomfort)

  • Fill with carrier oil

How to use: Roll onto temples, forehead, back of neck—avoid eye area.

3. American Pie (Soothes upset stomach)

Ingredients:

Ingredients:

  • 3 drops lavender (relaxation + sleep support)

  • 2 drops cedarwood (grounding)

  • 2 drops frankincense (calming + meditative)

  • Optional: 1 drop Roman chamomile (soothes nervous energy)

  • Fill with carrier oil

How to use: Roll onto pulse points, chest, or soles of feet.
